The aim of the Master's Program of the Department of Sociology is, first and foremost, to increase the possibilities of its students to comprehend the world and society in which they live in the broadest way and to contribute to them in this direction. Within this framework, the program aims to support its students in their journey of discovery of the world and society in which they live by applying the basic concepts and tools of analysis of the discipline of sociology and all these tools and knowledge. The Master's Program of the Department of Sociology aims to educate researchers, sociologists and scientists who have a sociological perspective, who are experts in their fields, who can explain the social and cultural structure of our country at home and abroad by conducting qualitative and quantitative research, and who can take an active role in studies in this direction.
The Sociology Master's Program incorporates the rich accumulation of both world and Turkish sociology. Rising on this rich accumulation, the programs continue their teaching and practice activities with an approach that combines the past with the present and the future, history with philosophy, and economy with politics. Within this framework, it endeavors to educate its students in relation to the interests, subjects and methods of other disciplines of social sciences. In line with this understanding, various historical and contemporary dimensions of social life, from urban problems to social change, from the study of social and economic inequalities in society to the sociology of communication, from the study of literature and culture to the sociology of religion, from social structure to the sociology of everyday life, from social change to current developments and innovations in the world and in our society, are the subject of study; academic activities are carried out in order to encourage students' interest in these various aspects of social life and to increase their equipment with theoretical and methodological tools that will contribute to their deepening in these issues and to reinforce these equipment with practices. Thus, this structuring and accumulation at the undergraduate level will be carried to the graduate level and our students will gain a qualified education. We will be happy to see the students who will want to participate in these challenging but also enjoyable intellectual and practical activities.
